An expert at manipulating emotions, he knows exactly what buttons to press. However, he is often unsatisfied on the whole, yearning for more and more power. However, his ambitious nature is too far-reaching for him to ever me satisfied with his status. He has a sharp intelligence, and it as tough as leather, these qualities aiding him well. Despite this, his grand plans are often halted by his dangerous and volatile nature, which manifests itself in violent impulses. Because of this, he will never achieve what he wants no matter how hard he tries. Even with the dark side of his personality, he can sometimes come across as pleasant and affable, should he choose to. Most of the time, though, he comes across as cynical, sarcastic and cruel. He was alone, seeping dread into the lives of mortals for his own amusement. It got old fast. The only relief came from riding into battle with his twin brother Phobos, serving as his father’s attendant. War: Deimos jumped at the chance to become more powerful and exert his influence, and went into battle as a loyal lieutenant of his father. With Phobos, he wreaked havoc, spreading fear throughout the minds of everyone opposing him. Mortal: Born and raised in the Bronx, the son of Mary and Miguel, Hector began his life with literally nothing. Raised in abject poverty, his father worked as a low-level thug for a criminal empire that was slowly rising. Hector despised his father for not having the drive to succeed and care for his family. This hate grew slowly over the years, as his father descended into alcoholism and drug abuse. When Miguel wasn’t absent, he would physically abuse his wife. Hector reached his teenage years, and began to work as a low level thug in the same way that his father did. However, Hector’s personal desire for power and his ‘talents’ earned him the attention of his leaders. He swiftly earned a reputation as one of the toughest, meanest and cruellest new recruits. Hector dropped out of school at sixteen, never having had much interest anyway. He worked full time for the mob, soon making even more than his father did through drug deals. He steadily rose through the ranks, and eventually, the order came through for him to prove his loyalty. His father had been stealing small drug supplies to feed his own habit. It was Hector’s job to kill him. He didn’t hesitate for a moment, killing his father with a golf club. He spent the next few years rising to the top of the chain without sign of stopping, his ruthlessness making him the most feared man in the Bronx. He also took risky chances, believing that there were significant gains to be made in the more experimental drug fields. However, the risks he took scared the mob bosses. They also feared that he would seize power from them, and while not wanting to lose one of their best lieutenants, yearned to find a way to put him elsewhere for the time being. Their prayers were answered, when Hector unknowingly killed the son of a rival mob boss in a bar fight. They sent him to Athens on a ‘holiday’, to avoid any repercussions and wait for the whole thing to blow over.
